Philippe Petit — Founder and President

Founder profile — updated September 2026.

Background

Philippe Petit is the founder and president of VITACEAE TRANSACTIONS, an independent advisory firm specialising in the intermediation and advisory of premium vineyard transactions, with Champagne and Burgundy at the core of its expertise.

He comes from the tenth generation of a Champagne winegrowing family and trained as an oenologist. He worked as a sworn wine broker in Champagne and held operational positions within Champagne houses before founding the firm in 2016. He holds an MBA from NEOMA Business School (formerly Reims Management School), obtained in 2002, and an inter-university diploma in Vine and Wine Law, obtained in 2020 from the University of Burgundy Europe. He also sits as an honorary judge of the commercial court.

Scope of practice

His work covers the intermediation of sales and acquisitions of vineyard estates and houses, viticultural M&A advisory on its economic and technical dimensions, estate management, and the engineering of complex situations. Every mandate is conducted off-market, under strict confidentiality.

Clients and referral network

The firm advises structured owners and operators, family offices, and private and institutional investors, working in continuous relation with a network of referrers — notaries, chartered accountants and wealth advisers — each acting within their own field of competence.
