Our Expertise
A firm founded by a man of the land. Oenologist, former sworn wine broker, tenth-generation winegrower.
VITACEAE is an independent French advisory firm for off-market wine estate transactions, with Champagne and Burgundy at the core of its expertise and selected premium mandates in other regions, acting for owners, buyers, investors and their professional advisors.
Three benchmarks. In Champagne, the prevailing market value of one hectare of vines ranges from €947,000 in the Aube to €1,689,000 in the Côte des Blancs (2025 official price schedule, Journal officiel of 19 August 2026 — VITACEAE Market Data). In Burgundy, a Côte-d'Or premier cru white plot is valued at €2,700,000/ha and a premier cru red at €1,150,000/ha (same schedule). Only 0.63% of Champagne vineyard surfaces changed hands in 2025 (SAFER).
VITACEAE provides no legal, tax or wealth-planning advice: the firm coordinates the transaction with the client's notary, lawyer and accountant, whose analyses remain decisive.

A trained oenologist, Philippe worked in Champagne houses and as a sworn wine broker before founding VITACEAE to specialise in premium wine estate transactions in Champagne and Burgundy. Which wine regions does VITACEAE work in?
Champagne and Burgundy form the core of the practice, with the deepest knowledge of terroirs, players and price dynamics. VITACEAE also acts on selected premium mandates in other French regions such as Bordeaux, the Rhône, the Loire and Alsace, always off-market.Why are Champagne and Burgundy the core?
Because they are France's most demanding vineyard markets: under the 2025 official schedule, a hectare of Champagne vines ranges from €947,000 in the Aube to €1,689,000 in the Côte des Blancs, and a Côte-d'Or premier cru white plot is valued at €2,700,000/ha. Only 0.63% of Champagne vineyard surfaces changed hands in 2025 (SAFER), which makes access, not capital, the constraint. How are mandates outside these two regions selected?
On quality, not volume: rare, premium estates, houses or vineyard land where the same off-market discipline — valuation, sector due diligence, SAFER pre-emption, negotiation — applies. Generic or volume operations are not taken on.How to cite this page
